Various scientific experts have given many numbers of scientific management. A few of some important definitions are:
(1) According to F.W. Taylor, “The even of acting and knowing of what is been exactly meant to be in the order of doing by men and proceed with that to be secured in each other they do it in the best and cheapest order of way.”
(2) According to Peter F. Drucker, “The core of the scientific operation is the systematized study of work, the analysis of work into the simplest elements and the methodical enhancement of the worker’s performance of each element.“
Based on the discussion, we can say that scientific management contributes to studying the total number of every activity which we discuss in detail, and ensuring that all the organization’s activities are been accomplished economically and effectively.
Features of Scientific Management
Let us see about the different methods and main characteristics of scientific management.
(1) Systematic Approach: scientific management is defined as a systematic approach to management and it always ensures that all activities are been successfully completed systematically and scientifically proven.
(2) Brings completion of Mental Change: This management totally brings about a mental change in both the owners as well as the employees of respected management. Both owners and employees start for total aiming for more and better production targets than appropriate merely chasing or demanding higher profits.
(3) Discards and non-discards of Traditional Management: It calls for the discarding of old techniques and the adoption of new and modern techniques, to improve the efficiency of employees. This is nothing but the outcome of a complete change in attitude.
(4) Requires value of Strict Observance of Rules: In this management requires more amount of very strict observance of ordered rules because the rules are formed only after due to the analysis and of error in them. These kinds of rules are been actually followed strictly by the scientific management given by the ordered management which may fade away.
(5)The improvement of works with efficiency: their main scientific is to have more workers with efficiency. This is done through conducting various kinds of studies such as time studies, motion studies, and fatigue studies.
This management approach to the scientific approach was propounded and founded by F.W. Taylor based on the following principles.

It refers to that management that thinks that by scientifically analyzing work, It would be possible to find ‘one best way’ to do it.
(1) There is no rule, the thumb of science: This management of principle says that all should not get each other stuck on a daily set of routines with these old number of techniques of doing to the working of employers, should be constantly experimenting to each development of new techniques to make to much work even simpler, easier, and fast able.
(2) Harmony, Not Discord:
1/ The principle emphasizes that there should be complete harmony between the management and the workers.
2/ This requires a ‘Mental revolution’ on the part of both management and workers. Management and all the workers should always transform their thinking of all employers.
3/ Management should share the profits of the company if any with the workers and workers should work hard and be willing to embrace change for the good of the company.
(3)Only cooperation but not Individualism: according to this scientific management principle, all Activities done always by these different people must be carried with each number of the spirit of mutual relationship of cooperation. Taylor suggests that workers have should jointly deterministic standards. Thus increasing responsibility.
(4)To his/her each and every development of every person of their responsibility and efficiency :
1/ This principle is concerned with the efficiency of employees which could be built in right from the process of employee selection.
2/Amount of work assigned to all employees should interact with their capabilities. We should be given the required training to increase their efficiency.
3/ Active and efficient employees should earn a lot more. This will ensure the greatest efficiency and prosperity for both the company and the workers.
